We liked this home because it was not a cookie cutter house - it had charm and character. We liked the neighborhood and the fact that it was on the river. It afforded us water access without the noise that busy days on the river often bring. We always feel like we are on vacation when we are in the backyard - the quiet and the view of the water always bring relaxation. In the winter, the association plows the channel which allows for ice skating and neighborhood events and get togethers on the ice.
We also really like how this house is within walking distance of 2 different parks that are really nice and playful. We can walk to the association beach for Venetian Night or an association bonfire/event. We can walk to downtown for Merry Cary, Cruise Night, the Cary Metra Train Station, dinner at the Tracks, Galatis, or we can walk to the Fish Fry at the Country Club on Friday nights. The neighborhood streets are quiet and safe for walks and runs and provide beautiful scenery. It's off the beaten path enough to feel like vacation but close enough to be convenient to a lot of things. Its quiet. You don't hear road noise, or street noise, you hear nature. Its a close knit group of neighbors who are very welcoming and who lend a hand to help each other out. The neighborhood has character and the houses have character. You will not see your house repeated 2-3 houses down like you would in a subdivision.
