This historic property was built in 1892 and originally operated as the Chaffee County Poor Farm. Today it's listed on the National Register of Historic Places and bears little resemblance to its humble beginnings. Now, renovated rooms are elegant, wireless Internet is available and a gracious front porch invites guests to relax and view the glorious Salida, Colorado sunsets. A smaller back porch is a favorite for morning coffee and watching hummingbirds. The property sits on five acres in the country so it is an ideal place for rest and relaxation as an alternative to a typical hotel stay. Our location on the Arkansas River, with an eighth of a mile of private, blue ribbon fishing for our guests, not only makes it a peaceful retreat, but idyllic for the angler.
