The "Lehua Suite" is a 2-story, split level unit that contains 937 sq. ft. of living space. The unit comes fully furnished. Both the upper level and the lower level have large patio lanai areas that look out over beautiful ponds and tropical foliage. Enjoy this secluded piece of paradise and yet be close to all of the exciting activities available in and around Hilo Town. Adjacent to Wailoa Park, convenient to UH-Hilo.
Originally built as a Sheraton Hotel, the Waiakea Villas are now condominiums. Only 2 suites were built in the complex -- this "Lehua Suite" being one of them.
In the morning have a cup of Kona coffee, read the morning edition of the Hawaii Tribune Herald, and watch the koi swim by accompanied by the chatter of the friendly ducks, who consider the grounds of Waiakea Villas to be their home.
The first floor of the suite has the living room, dining area, lounge area, kitchen and bath. The sofa in the lounge area opens up to a full-sized sleeper. In the morning step outside of the lounge onto the spacious tiled lanai. The kitchen area is complete with range, refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, sink, breakfast nook and more.
Upstairs is the loft bedroom, with full bath and a furo tub. A furo tub is a traditional Japanese soaking tub -- like a hot tub without jets. This one is red -- a very auspicious color.
Wailoa Park is right next door. Run through the park and you end up a Hilo Bayfront, home to the Hilo small boat harbor, Suisan fish market (excellent al fresco dining), and Liliuokalani Park -- a breathtakingly beautiful park with an Asian-inspired landscape.
